  1. Case for Support is usually not well developed for most organizations.
  2. Case for Support combines both Vision of the organization and the current needs.
  3. Pull out the Case from prospective donors using sensitive leading questions!

Nature of Dialogue

The first Principle of the Empowerment Dialogue Program is that Fundraising at its best is a Dialogue but there is a very special characteristic of Dialogue that we may not appreciate. In the words of the famous German philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer:



To reach an understanding in a dialogue is not merely a matter of putting oneself forward and successfully asserting one’s own point of view, but being transformed into a communion in which we do not remain what we are.[1]
 
Gadamer is saying something very profound – that we “transform” each other in true dialogue into new individuals with changed perspective and feeling. There is a transformative part to dialogue and this is a vital part to making dialogue the basis of the very best of fundraising.

New Workbook Launched

At the heart of the Empowerment Dialogue Program is a comprehensive workbook that teaches the New Language of Fundraising. I think it will be a potent tool for fundraisers but it has to work in the real world!

Can fundraisers learn from a workbook and coaching? A lot depends on the individual but given the right tools I think many fundraisers will grab hold of this and run. Let's talk about it.

We can also collectively take this much further. If we can
harness the fundraising experience of hundreds and even thousands of individuals, all out there trying new dialogues and gaining insight, we can create something even better and better.
